Income with writing

Tonight I've been researching different ways of bringing in income as a freelance writer.

There are several ways freelance writers can earn income, and it is generally said that you should try multiple streams of income to become lucrative.

Here are some ways in which you can make money writing:
-Blogging
-Writing for magazines
-Writing for the web
-Copy Writing
-Writing for content sites
-Books
-Proofreading
-Editing others' work

In the next several days, I'll examine each of these streams of income in more detail. I'll provide you resources to get you started in any writing arena you choose to try for yourself.

Until next time...Happy Writing!

Finding Work

Finding freelance work can be difficult, especially for new freelance writers.
In my article Five Sites to Develop Your Freelance Writing Career, I discuss five good sites to make money as a freelance writer or to find work and potential clients.

Good luck! And remember, persistence is key.

Don't give up!

Freelance writing requires persistence and lots of it! For new writers, it is discouraging to be rejected by potential clients, to have your queries rejected, or otherwise be turned down for a writing job. For experienced writers, rejection is still difficult. In these times of discouragement it is easy to get down or to beat yourself up.

But what is required is persistence. Writing requires you pick yourself back up, go out, and find another job to apply for, send another query, and keep looking for potential clients.

The Internet offers so many places to find freelance work.

One of the best resources for freelance writers (in my opinion) is Deb Ng's Freelance Writing Jobs blog. Nearly every weekday she posts new job leads to her site. Not only does this offer writers hope, it makes it easier for writers to find and get more work!

Be persistent this week, whether you receive rejection letters or acceptance letters.

Freelance writing business

I've decided to create this blog not only to show off my writing skills and business, but also to help other freelance writers accomplish their dreams. Freelance writing is my passion - I don't derive as much satisfaction out of any other occupation.

Let me tell you a little about my business and expertise. I have been functioning as a freelance writer since September, 2006. I had always known that I loved to write, but for some reason I never realized I could make my passion a career. Once I got started, however, there was no turning back!

I have written for Associated Content, Constant Content, Key Word Cafe, and other SEO websites. I have been published on dating and wedding websites.

I am a professional blogger, and at this time I run two other blogs. Fur Everywhere was started in December, 2006 for cat lovers and cat owners. This blog offers useful resources for cat owners as well as humorous stories about cats and their behavior.

Mental Health Manual was also created in December, 2006. I aim to use my expertise in mental health and mental illness to benefit others, whether these individuals be those with mental illness or their families and friends. Counselors, teachers, and pastors may also find this blog helpful to their particular professions.

The benefits of this blog include:
-Resources for freelance writers, editors, and copywriters.
-Consistent updates on my services and products.
-Learning from my experiences and successes.

I hope you find this blog informative as well as entertaining. Be sure to visit again soon!
